Mofarreh And Gülsan Win Reported $246 Million Riyadh Bridges Contract

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Saudi Arabia's Mofarreh Group and Turkey's Gülsan Holding have agreed to build seven steel bridge interchanges in Riyadh for SAR923 million ($246 million).

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) granted the contract, which includes Package 2, Groups 2 and 3 of the capital's urgent steel bridges program, with a 12-month construction timeframe.

The project includes roughly 8.86 kilometers of elevated road constructions, omitting one junction, along significant corridors such as King Salman Road, Imam Saud Road, Khurais Road, and Al-Kharj Road.

Construction projects include structural steel flyovers, reinforced concrete foundations, bridge decks, approach ramps, retaining walls, utility diversions, drainage systems, road lighting, and traffic control infrastructure.

The Saudi-Turkish joint venture claimed that it won the package over seven other bids, including Nesma & Partners, MASCO, Modern Building Leaders, SAPAC, Al-Omaier Trading & Contracting, Yuksel Saudia, and BATCO.

Mofarreh Group and Gülsan Holding formed a joint venture in July 2026 to develop road, bridge, and interchange projects in Riyadh. The stated award occurred less than three months after the partnership was founded.

The accelerated construction schedule is likely to need extensive steel fabrication, heavy lifting, earthmoving, and concrete work on many locations. Mobile and crawler cranes, excavators, piling rigs, concrete pumps, and heavy transport trucks are common tools used in such projects.

The bridges are part of Riyadh's larger road development project to increase traffic flow and alleviate congestion ahead of Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
